2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account Information: Your email address and password when you create an account via Firebase Authentication.
  • Phone Number: If you opt-in to our SMS service, we collect your mobile phone number to send account alerts and reminders.
  • Payment Information: Billing details collected and processed by Stripe. We never store your full card number — Stripe handles all payment data under PCI-DSS compliance.
  • Support Communications: Any messages you send to our support email.

Information collected automatically when you use the Extension

  • Scan Metadata: Timestamps and URLs of product pages you choose to analyze. We do not store the full content of scans permanently.
  • Credit Usage: Records of credit deductions to maintain your account balance.
  • Approximate Location: IP-based geolocation at the country/region level. We do not log or permanently store your precise IP address.
  • Extension Settings: Your preferences stored locally on your device via chrome.storage.local.

What we do NOT collect: We do not read, store, or transmit the general content of web pages you visit. The Extension only activates on detected product pages when you explicitly click "Analyze."

  • Scan cache: Analysis results are cached for 7 days, then deleted.
  • Scan metadata: Retained for 90 days, then deleted.
  • Account data: Retained while active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Payment records: Retained for 7 years for tax compliance.

6. Your Rights

  • Access & Portability: Request a copy of your data.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing at any time.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security including HTTPS-only communications, Firestore security rules, and Stripe webhook verification. No system is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

BS Inspector is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in the USA. For international users, data transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you of significant changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect.

11. SMS Privacy & Data Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
